Minutes ANC2D meeting May 18, 2009

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:05pm

A quorum was determined

The minutes from the April meeting were approved.

A motion was made and approved to accept the Treasurer’s Report.

 

DC Gov’t:

MPD: Srgt John McDonald discussed crime was down 17% in PSA 208 and responded to requests for increase in patrols

There was no report from the Mayor’s office

Council Member Evans’ office was represented by Desi Deschaine who discussed the budget issues, the upcoming Bag Tax Bill and the Emergency Crime Bill. Replacements for City Administrator and Director of DPR were discussed.

WASA was represented by Diane Pratt who discussed the Rock Creek Sewer Separation project, scheduled to begin in July 2009. The area affected by this project will have parking restrictions and homes will have water shut off for approximately 8 hours at a time. The homes affected will be given no less than 48 hours notice. All hydrants in the affected area will be replaced.

 

Neighborhood Groups:

Kalorama Village reported their First Annual Spring Fair was held on April 29 and they were looking for assistance with their website

Friends of Mitchell Park announced the Square Dance May 29, 2009 5-8pm. It was reported there were people playing basketball on the courts after the park was closed. They were advised to contact the police when people were in the park after hours.

It was announced the next meeting would be held on June 15, 2009 and the meeting was adjourned at 8:20pm.
