Minutes ANC2D meeting Jan 11, 2010

 

The meeting was called to order at 702pm

A quorum was established

A motion was moved and passed electing Dana Greenwald to Chair and Secretary and MaryEva Candon to Vice Chair and Treasurer

The minutes from the Nov 2009meeting were approved.

A motion was made and approved to accept the Treasurer’s Report.

 

DC Gov’t:

MPD: No Report

Mayor’s Office: No Report

Sarina Loy from CouncilMember Evans’ office discussed the upcoming Parking Bill which will allow Ward 1 a pilot parking program. This will have an impact on our ANC parking situation and CouncilMember Evans is aware of these concerns

 

Neighborhood Groups:

Call Boxes: Announced future fund raising and  development of a website

Kalorama Village: First annual dinner to be held Jan 18; time for renewal of membership

Spanish Steps: Construction has been halted due to DPR issues; fountain still not working

Mitchell Park: seeding was prevented due to weather; park is closed until approx June 2010

SKHA: discussion of application of Variance for 1919 23rd St; SKHA neither supports nor opposes application for variance

Language ETC: Planning for a March tour of ETC School at March ANC meeting; request for tutors and additional funding

Restore Mass Ave: members expressed concerns for unfinished corner at 22nd and Florida; discussed plans to plant more trees March 2010

 

Old Business:

Reminder that DDOT was to have final recommendations for ANC traffic calming for presentation at Feb Meeting

 

New Business:

WASA work causing flooding into basements- Claims for damage to be made to Robin Hayes, Senior Risk Management Analyst 202-787-2050 or Tanya De Leon at 787-2051

 

Presentation for ANC approval for variance at 1919 23rd St. There were no neighbor complaints regarding proposed renovations and a motion was made and passed that the ANC will support the request for a variance allowing 80% occupancy for this particular house, with the request that BZA not use this as a precedent for future renovations

 

It was announced the next meeting would be held on Feb 8, 2010 and the meeting was adjourned at 815pm.
